It was originally a utility garden belonging to the castle on the very site of the present chateau. But it was reconstructed step by step to the up-to-date present appearance. During the reign of the bishop Liechtenstein - Kastelkorn the garden was adapted according to the project by the architect Luchese and later it was connected with the garden front of the chateau. It has been preserved up to the present in the shape of an "English park" created in the middle of the 19th century with romantic nooks, a water system and botanical specialities.
